We hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving vacation. Time moves quickly as we enter the season of Advent. Morning prayers focus on the season of Advent and teachers spend time discussing what this season means to all of us. We had a Penance Service yesterday as we prepare for His coming. In addition, our students will be attending Mass on Monday, December 9 for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
Interims for the Second Quarter will be sent home to parents during the week of December 9. These interims provide parents with information regarding their student’s progress during this quarter. They will be mailed to parents. If you do not receive an interim, then you can assume that of this date, your child is making progress in meeting the standards that have been taught during this Second Quarter.
Please note that students can enter school at 7:55. Teachers are on duty at that time. Students whose parents drop off their children at 7:30 are NOT supervised so please do not drop off any earlier than 7:50.
Thank you to some of our 8th grade students, Mrs. Green and Mrs. Heisey for spending the Saturday before Thanksgiving in stenciling the names of virtues (see pictures above) in certain areas of the school. Our teachers and students work on specific virtues that support our religion goal in accreditation. Having these stenciled virtues around the school helps to keep our mission alive on a daily basis.
We received two information sheets…..one from the OWjL program at Ohio Wesleyan University (a summer program for students in grades 6. 7. 8 that is designed for gifted and talented students) and the other on “Kids Career Day” for girls in grades 1 – 6 who might be interested in STEM opportunities. Please call the school if you might be interested in either of these programs for your child.
