Thoughts with Mr. Watts
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.
- Romans 15:5
We are entering the last week of October and I couldn't be more proud of our students and staff. Our students have been resilient, positive, and motivated to learn. Our teachers and staff have been working harder than ever to support all of our students during this challenging time.

As we enter November, there can be plenty of "darkness" in our world. With COVID, the Election, the weather, and the literal darkness of the coming months, it is easy to get discouraged and feel divided. We all need to remember that darkness is just the absence of light. Light conquers all darkness. The smallest candle lights up an entire room. And, we can be that light for others and help illuminate their darkness with prayer, support, and encouragement.

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” - John 8:12
There are four rules I learned in my coaching career that can directly apply to our entire school community. I wanted to explain them in detail in this video.

COVID - 19 Information
COVID-19 Updates
If anyone in your household would have a Positive COVID-19 test result, you must notify Mr. Watts by calling (614) 949-7713 as soon as possible, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

When to Keep Your Child Home (Updated 10.9)- This is a great reference for you to print and keep handy. You can also find a copy in Backpack Express
A Letter from Bishop Brennan
Please click on the link below to read a letter from Most Reverened Robert J. Brennan, Bishop of Columbus, to all Catholic school families.

Jude Aloysius Green
Mrs. Green had her baby! Jude Aloysius was born Saturday morning at 7am.

He was 9 pounds 11oz, 21 inches. Both mom and baby are healthy, happy and tired!

Congratulations to the Green family and you are in our prayers.
Dress Down for $1 Thursday
This Thursday, October 29th is the last day of the quarter and the last day before Halloween. As much as we all enjoy seeing little ones in costumes, we will not be permitting our students in Kindergarten through 8th grade to dress in costumes this year.

However, students will be permitted to Dress Down for $1. This money will be donated to SVDP Fill-a-Bag for Thanksgiving. Please reference the Student Handbook for Dress-Down guidelines. Fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grades will have gym, so please wear appropriate footwear. Again, NO COSTUMES.
Did You Know? - Coming Back Soon
This is a way to learn about things that can make your St Catharine School life just a little easier. Hints and tricks you may or may not know. Do you have a question or comment regarding something you want to know about or something you want others to know about? Send it to info@stcathschool.com and we will feature it in the "Did You Know?" section.

Now You Know!
School Lunches

  • This program is being provided by the USDA through the end of the school year!

  • You are helping our school when you order a take home lunch. This is provided for everyone. You are not taking away from any other students

  • Make sure you are using the Google Spreadsheet to sign up for Take Home Lunches. This spreadsheet is being sent through email to all families. The link will remain the same, but the menu items will be updated every Friday for the following week. Check your Digital Academy Account for Mr. Watts' emails. Here is a video to explain how to use the spreadsheet.

  • Any student who had all 5 days of the week checked, will continue to have the next 6 days checked for next week for your convenience. However, if you signed up for lunches on certain days, your requests were cleared. In either instance, please double check the sheet and make any necessary adjustments by Monday at 8:30 AM

  • When accessing the Google Sheet, keep in mind, you will have editing capabilities, so please only click on the checkbox for your child(ren).

  • PM Cohorts- You will be ordering lunch for the next day. The spreadsheet will reflect what you will be receiving on that day for tomorrow's lunch

  • St. Catharine At Home Learners - Please contact Ms. Hazel if the pick up schedule does not work for your family.

SPORTS UPDATE
This is a communication from St. Catharine Athletic Association

Parents and Coaches,

We are expecting to have a decision by the Diocese on how the upcoming basketball season will operate by the end of this month. Your patience during this time is very much appreciated as details, guidelines and protocols are finalized. The State of Ohio, OHSAA, and NFHS have not provided any guidelines at this time. Once these guidelines are finalized and published, the Diocese is hopeful in sending out a uniform set of guidelines to all parishes and then we will be able to finalize our program for a fun and safe basketball season. Registration is currently open. We will be suspending the participation fee until the guidelines noted above are finalized.
Lindy Infante Scholarship
