2019-2020 REGISTRATION DUE FEBRUARY 22
Last week each class had a grade level assembly to review the course selection process.
The Camden Catholic High School Course Selection Guide is posted on Parents Web and the CCHS website (
CLICK HERE). Please review this document with your students as it outlines the course selection procedures and gives a description of all of our course offerings. During the course selection assemblies, your student received copies of the tuition contract, transportation form, textbook loan form, and course selection worksheet.
These documents have been emailed home and are also posted on Parents Web for your convenience. These documents must be filled out and returned to your student's homeroom teacher by February 22.
You may return the forms to school as you complete them. It is not necessary to wait until February 22.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH ESSAY CONTEST
"But racism still profoundly affects our culture, and it has no place in the Christian heart. This evil causes great harm to its victims, and it corrupts the souls of those who harbor racist or prejudicial thoughts. The persistence of the evil of racism is why we are writing this letter now."

Students interested in entering the contest must write a formal essay based on the following prompt:
As racism continues to be a presence within our communities, how can Catholics help to bridge the growing divide?
Requirements
- Any Camden Catholic student in grades 9-12
- Essay must be 1-2 pages, typed, double spaced, 12 point font

STUDENT AFFAIRS NEWS
Christian Service Progam
Verification of Christian service hours for the first semester were due December 10, 2018.
As a reminder
Christian service is an annual school requirement and students will not be eligible to participate fully in other extracurricular activities and events if they have not fulfilled their service obligations.
Parents and students who have not completed their first semester requirement are ineligible to participate in any extracurricular activity, including but not limited to practices, dances, club meetings, etc. Eligibility will only be updated on Fridays so if a student turns in hours on Monday they will remain ineligible until the coming Friday.
Additionally students who have yet to submit their service verification for the first semester are REQUIRED to attend Campus Cleanup on TUE, February 12th from 3pm to 5pm. Students should report to Rm 231 at 3pm. If students fail to show they will be issued a detention on Thursday, February 14th.
Service Hours are posted on Renweb under the Family menu option on the left hand side and then selecting Service hours at the top of the page.
Christian Service Reflections
due March 1, 2019. All students will be receiving the Christian Service Refection for the 2018-2019 school year in their Religion classes. These reflections are required of all students to complete their annual Christian Service Program requirements. There is a different reflection for each grade level and can be found at

Special Olympics South Basketball League-
From January 14 - March 4 (Sundays), our athletes compete and show their skill in
basketball

The St. Vincent De Paul society of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish
in Somerdale NJ holds a food drive one Saturday a month. If you live in the area and are interested please contact Ms. Ann Clinton for the parish point of contact to help with this important work of mercy.
KAIROS VI Retreat
Our Spring KAIROS VI retreat will be held March 28-31st at the Diocese of Camden Kairos retreat house on the property of Holy Spirit High School in Absecon NJ. This retreat is open to juniors and seniors and the cost is $195.00 for the four day, three night retreat. KAIROS means "right time" meaning God's time and is a powerful retreat experience for young people to step away from every day demands and reflect on their relationship with Christ and others. We will start sign ups at the end of the week.
Senior Parent Meeting
Senior Parents please mark your calendars with the a mandatory meeting on February 28th at 7pm at CCHS. This meeting will cover information on graduation including requirements, activities and tickets. It will be followed by the Senior Trip meeting for parents of students attending.

Addition to Spring Uniform - Effective Spring 2019
When Camden Catholic students return to summer uniforms in April 2019, they will be permitted to wear khaki shorts. The uniform khaki shorts must be purchased at Flynn and O'Hara. Only the khaki shorts purchased at Flynn and O'Hara will be permitted. In April 2019, the summer uniform is:

Parent- Teacher Interviews are scheduled for Thursday, February 21, 2019. The evening begins at 6:30 PM and concludes at 8:30 PM. The PARENT-TEACHER INTERVIEW PROGRAM is designed to promote close collaboration between the parent/guardian and faculty in a way that is productive for our students as they face the challenges of high school education. BURLCO MISS ST. PATRICK 2019:
Do you know a female who would be interested in a chance to be the 2019 Miss St. Patrick of Burlington County and hold place of honor in the 2019 St. Patrick's Day Parade? If so, please let us know!
We are currently in the process of accepting applications to become this year's Miss St. Patrick. The chosen recipient will be crowned by this year's Parade Grand Marshal, at the Grand Marshal Dinner in February 2019. On Saturday, March 2, 2019, she will ride at the front of the Burlington Co St. Patrick's Day Parade in Mt Holly, New Jersey. Additionally, the winner will receive a scholarship award in the amount of $500.
Interested applicants should be between the ages of 15 & 23 and meet one of the following requirements:
- Be a resident of Burlington County, New Jersey and, or
- Attend school in Burlington County and, or
- Have relatives or a sponsor who belongs to an local Irish organization or belong to one themselves (AOH, parade committee, Irish Dance Group, Emerald Society, etc)
