Jonathan said to his young armor-bearer, "Come, let's go over to the outpost of those uncircumcised  men. Perhaps the Lord will act in our behalf. Nothing  can hinder the Lord from saving... I Samuel 14. Jonathan, the son of Israel's first king, does not wait for the storm to come to him.  He goes with only one other man to pick a fight with an army! He goes looking for trouble. From the first time I read this story I have never forgotten what Jonathan says, "Perhaps the Lord will act on our behalf..."  He does not assume that the Lord has to act, he simply has faith that God has the power to do so and hopefully, God will.

As Irma rises like an evil army from the south we too can say, "Perhaps the Lord will act on our behalf!" Maybe he will shift the storm away from us but even if He does not we go forward in faith.  We know that whether we fall in this "battle" or whether we prevail we will serve Him.  We will give Him all the glory in the good times and the bad.  I hope I can still say that with the same confidence a few days from now.  Lord I believe, help my unbelief!   See you Sunday, unless there is a hurricane warning and/or watch then stay home!   -Pastor Kris
