Gary, Indiana – IronWorkz, a nonprofit business incubator based in Gary, Indiana, was honored with the prestigious 2025 MIRA Community Impact Award at the annual Mira Awards gala held on February 27 at the Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel. This award recognizes the organization’s outstanding contributions to creating equitable access to resources for underserved entrepreneurs.
Founded in 2022 by Faith Spencer, Alex Termini, and Emmani Ellis, IronWorkz has become a beacon of support for entrepreneurs, particularly those from underserved communities. The award highlights their work in bridging resource gaps and fostering an inclusive environment for business innovation.
“We are deeply grateful for this recognition,” said Spencer and Ellis. “The MIRA Award is a powerful acknowledgment of our mission to empower entrepreneurs by providing access to vital knowledge, networks, and opportunities. This honor strengthens our commitment to creating lasting change and building a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
IronWorkz’s efforts were also recognized by the Society of Innovators at Purdue Northwest in 2024, where they were inducted as an Advocate for Innovation. This latest recognition underscores the significant impact that IronWorkz has had in shaping the future of entrepreneurship in Northwest Indiana, and it serves as a testament to their dedication to long-term community growth.
In addition to this honor, IronWorkz is gearing up for its upcoming event, THE Summit, designed to bring together entrepreneurs, business leaders, and innovators for a transformative experience. THE Summit will feature dynamic panels, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities aimed at equipping attendees with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s competitive business environment.
The event will take place on April 25–26, 2025, and promises to be a cornerstone for the growth of local businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs. THE Summit will serve as a platform for discussing trends, challenges, and opportunities in entrepreneurship, with a special focus on fostering economic vitality in the Region.
“We invite everyone from the entrepreneurial ecosystem to join us at THE Summit,” said Spencer. “Whether you're just starting out or looking to expand your business, this event will provide invaluable insights and connections to help you succeed.”
