The Fifth Sunday after the Epiphany
Explore God Chicago 2019 Continues!
This weekend we celebrate the Fifth Sunday after the Epiphany . The Theme of our Worship this weekend will be "Is Jesus Really God?" as we continue our series " Explore God ."

Worship Services this week:

Saturday - 5:30pm
Classic Worship w/communion

Sunday - 8:00  Classic Worship
10:45 Contemporary Worship
HeartWork:   John 10:30
Jesus said, 'I and the Father are one.'
This weekend in the worship services the message series will be asking the question “Is Jesus Really God?”

The implications of this question are clearly enormous. Every aspect of society would be impacted by the confirmation that Jesus was literally God in the flesh.
Also, if Jesus were God, then his words take on much greater meaning. They’re more than simply wise words of an influential prophet or philosopher.
On the other hand, if he’s not God, then the entire Christian faith is undermined. As Paul said, if Jesus didn’t rise from the dead (i.e., do something that only God could do), then faith in him is in vain (1 Corinthians 5:14).

This Sunday you'll also have an opportunity to join in the discussion! At 9:20 Pastor Blonski will be hosting an Explore God discussion group. The topic this Sunday will be "Is Jesus Really God?

A discussion group has formed in the Wauconda area. Hosted by Chuck Lintner in his home, you have the opportunity to invite a friend that might not be comfortable coming to a church but still has questions about God. His group meets on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m.  You can contact Chuck at 847/452-7007 for more information.
BIBLE/DEVOTIONAL READINGS – For the week starting February 10, Bible readings are provided to assist you in daily reading and prayer. Click on the Bible passage to read the Scripture lesson at BibleGateway.com .

Take an empty mite box home; and when you get more change, put it in your little box. There are mite boxes for children, too.  Any small coins they can put in their box will help our missionaries spread the good news of Jesus Christ around the world.  Pick up a copy of the winter     Quarterly (by the big blue Mite Box) as you leave church today. Turn to the last page and see how our little coins have been put to good use!
