Is our government really the bad guy?
How Evil the US Government Actually Is
Eric Zuesse
EXCERPTS
The U.S. Government has developed plans to invade China and Russia and to do it on the basis of lies.

U.S. aggression is behind both of these two invasion-plans, which constitute the two major threats of starting a nuclear war that would destroy the entire planet — not MERELY to destroy an entire country, such as the United States and its allies did in 1992 when the U.S. (CIA) precipitated the Yugoslav war and then invaded and destroyed Yugoslavia on the basis only of lies, and in 2001 when they invaded and destroyed Afghanistan on the basis only of lies, and in 2003 when they invaded and destroyed Iraq on the basis only of lies, and in 2011 when they invaded and destroyed Libya on the basis only of lies, and in 2012 when they invaded and destroyed Syria on the basis only of lies, and in many other instances, when the U.S. and its allies invaded other countries, also only on the basis of lies.

Of course, U.S.-and-allied propaganda denies all of this and fools their own public to believe otherwise, but all of this is history, all of which will be linked to in the online version of this article, in order to document this with the undeniable evidence

Western News Media Exists to Administer Propaganda
Caitlin Johnstone
EXCERPTS
Western media have been falling all over themselves to condemn repeated comments from Elon Musk accusing the empire-funded spin machine Bellingcat of conducting psyops — an accusation which, as Aaron Maté explains for The Grayzone, is completely fair and accurate. Bellingcat is paid by western governments to manipulate the information ecosystem in ways that serve the interests of the western empire, which is precisely the thing that psychological warfare is. “Psyops” is short for psychological operations, the component actions in psychological warfare, which becomes more important in cold war conflicts between nuclear powers who can’t confront each other directly.

This obvious fact hasn’t deterred the mass media outlets who cite Bellingcat copiously in their reporting from rushing to the institution’s defense. Bellingcat’s Aric Toler was brought on MSNBC’s “All In with Chris Hayes” to defend the outlet without being challenged in the slightest, and mainstream pundits like CNN’s Jake Tapper took to Twitter to proclaim the propaganda outlet a beacon of journalistic integrity.

As Alan MacLeod documented for Mintpress News a couple of years ago, Bellingcat is not only funded by western government sources like the CIA front National Endowment for Democracy, but is also staffed by numerous western military and intelligence “veterans”. The way the mass media continually praise and defend this plainly corrupt institution while also routinely citing its work is a kind of information laundering, because they are telling their massive audiences that this government propaganda outlet is a trustworthy source of information and then citing that information in their reporting on the enemies of those same governments.
Bellingcat in and of itself wouldn’t be destructive and toxic; what makes it destructive and toxic is the way western media continually amplify and validate it while publishing its claims under the guise of news stories, without ever disclosing the outlet’s massive conflicts of interest to their audiences. It’s a self-validating circle jerk of war propaganda.

Confessions of a CIA Terrorist
A Book Review by Rick Sterling   TRANSCEND Media Service
Black Ops / Life of a CIA Shadow Warrior – The Memoirs of Enrique Prado (St. Martin’s Press, New York, 2022)
EXCERPTS
Prado’s memoirs were approved for publication by the CIA. They are self-laudatory and highly critical of restraints on the CIA. They confirm that while the ability to assassinate at will was temporarily restricted, CIA sabotage and paramilitary operations against other nations have continued nonstop.

Prado believes they are the “good guys”. The International Court of Justice thought otherwise. In 1986 the court ruled the US attacks on Nicaragua were violations of international law. The Reagan administration and media largely ignored the ruling. Later, journalist Gary Webb documented the catastrophic social damage inside the US caused by the cheap cocaine flooding some US cities. Webb was attacked by establishment media. In 1998 the CIA Inspector General acknowledged,
“There are instances where C.I.A. did not, in an expeditious or consistent fashion, cut off relationships with individuals supporting the contra program who were alleged to have engaged in drug-trafficking activity, or take action to resolve the allegations.”

The 2014 movie Kill the Messenger, based on the true and tragic story of Gary Webb, was undoubtedly another movie that irritated Rico Prado.
Prado admits “Our job was to break the laws of other nations without getting caught to defend ours. It is dark and murky work.”

For the past several decades, much of the propaganda and disinformation has been guided by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), Agency for International Development (USAID) and individual western billionaires. In Nicaragua, US AID funded dozens of organizations for “regime change” in Spring 2018. Today, as the Ukraine proxy war continues and threatens to become civilization ending WW3, the western public is again being misled and misinformed. Supposedly “independent” Ukrainian media sources are funded (and sometimes created) by the same NED and USAID.

Meanwhile the CIA is still conducting and managing “Black Ops” around the world.
In the postscript Prado says “confronting China “ is now one the Agency’s primary tasks. He recommends, “The CIA needs to be led by vigorous, aggressive, and fearless leaders willing to take the fight to the enemy on their turf, wherever that turf may be.”

This is clearly a recipe for new conflicts even as the war with Russia escalates. Ric Prado has learned nothing from past failures and blowback. Judging by the positive reviews of his book, neither have the Washington foreign policy establishment.

Should U.S. Pay Reparations for Its International Crimes?
Post-9/11 US Conflicts Killed Over 4.5 Million People
Brett Wilkins     Common Dreams
The post-9/11 War on Terror may have caused at least 4.5 million deaths in around half a dozen countries, according to a report published Monday by the preeminent academic institution studying the costs, casualties, and consequences of a war in which U.S. bombs and bullets are still killing and wounding people in multiple nations.

The new report from the Costs of War Project at Brown University’s Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs shows “how death outlives war” by examining people killed indirectly by the War on Terror in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen.

One 2012 study found that more than half of the babies born in the Iraqi city of Fallujah between 2007 and 2010 had birth defects. Among the pregnant woman surveyed in the study, more than 45 percent experienced miscarriages in the two-year period following the 2004 U.S. assaults on Fallujah.

Geiger counter readings of depleted uranium-contaminated sites in densely populated Iraqi urban areas have consistently shown radiation levels that are 1,000 to 1,900 times higher than normal.

Track II Citizens Diplomacy for UN Charter Review
Center for United Nations Constitutional Research  (CUNCR)
At the last CUNCR board meeting, we decided to form a task force on building a coalition of states to demand Charter review according to Article 109 as the legal way of transforming the United Nations. To make the UN fit for purpose for global existential perils such as wars, climate change, nuclear disarmament, and human rights. Recently some key countries, such as Brazil and India are asking for substantial Security Council reform. And for the first time in more than 50 years, a major superpower, India is asking for a Charter review. Please see my tweet on this below and the link to India’s permanent representative’s speech at the UN last month.  (*see TWITTER release below)

Almost all our board members will be part of that task force. Hereby I am asking if any one of our supporters would also like to get involved in mostly advocacy at the national level on this task. We need support from many of the member states, but particularly, the African continent, which was practically unrepresented at the Charter convention in San Francisco, in 1945, and India—the most populated state in the world, Japan, Brazil, and the EU to be part of this alliance. We will do advocacy in these champion states.

Those who are interested please write to me directly and we will have our first meeting in 1st week of June. [email protected]

Insurrection at the United Nations
Glen Martin & E.P. Menon
On April 29th E.P. Menon arrived from San Diego to Kennedy International Airport in New York City. Menon is well-known as a World Citizen Gandhian activist from India who launched his activist career by literally walking around the world in 1961 and 62 to protest nuclear weapons. He walked from central India to Moscow, then to Paris and London, then from New York City and Washington, DC and finally from Tokyo to Hiroshima. Today, at age 88, he is still speaking truth to power, still nonviolently struggling in the face of a nuclear armed world order protected by an impotent and misguided UN system.

Martin began his own career of protest as a teenager, but his first world-scope protest was in Washington, DC in 1967 when hundreds of thousands of people descended upon Washington and the Pentagon to protest the slaughter that was the Vietnam War. The USA had a military draft at that time, and Martin refused to participate in their criminal enterprise as a conscientious objector to all war.
Outside the UN on the NYC street, we passed out literature about the Earth Constitution, talked with some interested people and in general made it clear that the UN Charter must be replaced by the Constitution for the Federation of Earth.

We also wrote a cover letter to the Indian Ambassador to the UN and brought her a package of materials (that included Menon’s book called “Footprints on Friendly Roads” narrating his walk around the world). We personally carried this material to the address of India’s Permanent Mission to the UN to make sure it was properly received and recognized.
