Are you happy with the way that your business is growing? If your answer is no, the question becomes, what can you do about it? The simple answer is to evaluate and upgrade your marketing efforts.

Let's assume that you aren't going to get a whole lot of people just knocking on your door out of the blue begging for your help. You're going to have be proactive to grow your business.

The easiest way to grow your business is through referrals, as a satisfied client is your best source of new clients. But by now, if you have been in business awhile, you have probably gone about as far as you can with current clients.

And speaking of clients, there are two others relatively easy ways that they can help you grow your business - you can expand your relationship with them (gather more of their assets) or you can expand your relationship with their children and other family members.

But many of you have probably already done this as well. I hate to say it, but this is the easy stuff, the low hanging fruit. This is simply leveraging the good work that you have already done with people that you know.

Now comes the hard part - active marketing. Don't worry, you don't have to cold call if you don't want to. But you do have to develop a marketing plan which is attainable given your resources and measurable so that you can evaluate your efforts and make adjustments as necessary along the way.

Even though it's February, it's never too late or the wrong time to begin an active marketing plan. The sooner you do, the sooner you will be to happy with the growth of your business.

Every day seems to bring a new controversy that makes you shake your head. While the political world has been in an upheaval since President Trump's inauguration, the stock market has taken it all in stride.

Don't however, deceive yourself into believing that this will go on forever. Markets are closely watching to see if Trump's pro-growth agenda actually gets implemented.
