Did you know that over 1 in 4 adults in the U.S. live with a disability? Making your website accessible isn’t just the right thing to do, it also improves usability, search engine visibility, and your reach to a wider audience.
At Web Services, we’ve been taking steps to ensure our clients’ websites are welcoming and usable for everyone, including those using screen readers, keyboard navigation, or assistive technology.
Some of the accessibility features we’re focusing on:
✅ Clear, readable fonts and proper color contrast
✅ Descriptive image alt tags
✅ Logical heading structure
✅ Keyboard-friendly navigation
✅ Text for links and buttons that make sense out of context
Why it matters:
- You’ll reach more potential customers
- It supports better SEO
- It may help reduce legal risk (yes, accessibility lawsuits are on the rise)
- Most importantly: it’s inclusive!
Let’s Talk Accessibility
We have already included a lot of these features when we build your website such as descriptive image tags and readable fonts.
If your website isn’t yet optimized for accessibility, or you’re not sure, let’s review it. We have been using a free plugin called UserWay. You can see it in action at CampBigSky.org and CantonPark.org. However, we do recommend a paid version because of the additional features and ADA protection. You can see what that looks like on my website Web Services, Inc. This is something I can add to your hosting fees.
Want a free accessibility checkup? Just reply to this email, and I’ll take a look.
Making the web better for everyone starts one site at a time. 💻🌍
