Following a record warm winter, last week was quite a departure from the year so far. We were gearing up to start the mowing season and had to shift gears and deal with snow and ice almost all week. The season was ahead of schedule but the current weather has slowed things down a bit. We are back on our maintenance priorities and working to catch up from the week we had lost due to the snow.
Our priorities are to continue finishing our winter pruning and shrub bed preparation and pre-emergence weed control application. We will begin to mow weather permitting. We are also tending to the leaves that are still falling off Oaks and other late leaf dropping trees and also starting to spray germinating weeds. Spring is a busy time and that time is here. We are confident that we will be ready as conditions change and we will make the right decisions on the priorities to best serve your property.
It looks like the snow and ice threat has subsided but the weather has cooled and the forecast is for a colder than normal March. Spring is near, but not quite here.
