New Work: Beet Salad
β€Œ

After LOTS of trial and error, this quilt is finally complete.

It started with white fabric that I dyed with these colors in mind. I really like them together.

It was really an exercise in composition, since i had no variety in shapes or colors. That's the part that took a lot of experimenting.

Now that it's complete, I'm quite happy with it. See a detail shot and purchase information.
A Nice Award
β€Œ

My piece, Miscommunication, recently won a third place award at the 2nd Biennial Fiber Arts National Juried Exhibition, at the Bower Center for the Arts, in Bedford, VA.

Nice!

It's a very nice exhibit. It will be up through August 21st, if you're in the area.
Slicing and Dicing with Pat Pauly

I got to unexpectedly take a two day class with Pat Pauly, and it was a ton of fun!

It was all about piecing skinny lines, setting in shapes, and then slicing and rearranging everything. Just my sort of thing!

This shows my progress near the end of the two day class. Read about my progress.

I've now completed the piecing and it's ready for quilting. I can't wait to finish it!
ο»Ώ50% Off Florida Native #1 and #2

Through the end of September I'm offering Florida Native #1 and Florida Native #2 at half price. As you can see, they were designed to hang together, but they each look equally good on their own.

What's New

I was really happy to see the "Tentmakers of Cairo" exhibit recently. The quilts are amazing and their story is equally fascinating.

I was also able to attend a demonstration of their technique, where two of them explained and demonstrated their process. I've written a blog post about it, with more photos and detail shots.

I'm still doing quite a bit of teaching via Zoom. See some recent student work here, and let me know if your guild needs a class or lecture.
