Podcasting can be a lot of fun but often are started for the wrong reasons. It takes a lot of work to make a professional styled show and that in itself takes dedication. If you are starting a podcast to get famous, make big money, or quit your job, I want you to think again. In my experience it can take a year before you can build an audience large enough for sponsorships and that adds on even more challenges. Starting a podcast can be exciting but it is also a lot of work. With two shows myself I know how much work it can be and not all shows grow equally.
The short video series below can help you decide what type of podcast you may want to start and the equipment you will need. The most important part is the “Why” of podcasting. Around 50% of podcast don’t make it past twenty episodes. I am currently at 475 episodes and have been doing it since 2015 and almost quit at 100 episodes. Many of my friends that started podcasts have died out at 20 episodes due to workload. In the industry we call that pod fade.
