Is the Mossberg 590 Shockwave legal in Ohio?
It's a 12-gauge, 6-shot shotgun with a 14-inch barrel. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives has confirmed that the 590 Shockwave is a "firearm" per the Gun Control Act, but it is NOT a Class 3/NFA firearm.  However, while this makes the Shockwave legal on the federal level, what about on the state or local level? Here's a legal opinion prepared by our own Sean Maloney.

13 years late: Dayton RTA considers reversing ban on concealed carry
13 years after the Ohio Attorney General first declared bans on concealed carry on city busses to be illegal, WRGT (Fox Dayton) is reporting that the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (or RTA, the city's public bussing system) is considering a proposal to change their policies to allow concealed carry on city busses.

House committee holds hearing on gun bills; Law enforcement organizations embarrass themselves
The uniformed officers looked great in their uniforms. The picture of professionalism. Then they opened their mouth. It was embarrassing to witness. All three officers testified that their concern was officer safety, but none could explain why license holders were the concern more than criminals, who they admit will not likely notify.

MEMORIAL DAY 2017: In 1788, Ohio law required ALL men aged 16-50 to bear arms
On July 25, 1788, the first Ohio law to establish and regulate a militia was published in Marietta. It mandated all men between 16 and 50 perform military duty. They were required to arm themselves with a musket and bayonet, a cartridge box, powder horn, one pound of powder and four pounds of lead. They also were ordered to drill every Sunday.
