With the kids home for the summer accidents are likely to happen but with a little extra preparation you can enjoy Summer the way it should be.
TIP #1:
Child Proof the Kitchen! From drawers, cabinets and pantries it's best to ensure they all stay locked so that little fingers don't go where they shouldn't. This includes locking up the wine cabinet if you have teenagers that love having friends over.
TIP #2:
Stock the medicine cabinet! Little bo-bos need TLC that starts with band aids, cleaning swabs, and Tylenol. Keep plenty on hand just in case.
TIP #3:
Set inside and outside time limits. Too much inside time can make anyone moody so make sure outside time is in the schedule. With summer being so hot it's best to also make sure the kids are wearing hats when outdoors, drinking plenty of water and aware of their surroundings. Bug spray will come in handy in the evenings.
TIP #4:
Fruits and veggies are your friends! If you don't have time to grocery shop use a grocery delivery service and stock up on fresh fruits and veggies. Run a summer contest and award the kids with a special field trip when they eat all their vegetables.

Summer brings fun, food and crime! Keep an eye out for suspicious activity and let your neighbors know you are looking out for them so they do the same for you. Below are a few key things to remember or implement for a safer summer.
TIP #1: BBQ Safety! We all love cooking out so remember to never leave your BBQ pits unattended and always keep water nearby in case of a fire emergency.
TIP #2: Take Breaks! When working in the yard, working out, or starting a new outdoor project always remember to take water breaks. Summer is the time for heat related issues.
TIP #3: Teenage Drivers! We share the road even more with teenage drivers during the summer. If you have teens plan the week out knowing where and when they will be on the roads. Set time limits and boundaries on when they can be out and where they shouldn't be driving.
TIP #4: Cameras See Everything! Costs are minimal now days so look into installing a web based camera(s) around your home that you can monitor 24/7. Beef up your outdoor lighting with landscape lights and motion controlled flood lights to deter thieves from lurking around your home.
