NEW INDUSTRIAL BUILDING PLANNED FOR INTERMODAL PARK


Isle of Wight County Economic Development is pleased to announce 460 Commerce Center, a +/- 352,000 SF planned speculative Class A industrial development in the Port of Virginia region. Located within Shirley T. Holland Intermodal Park along the Route 460 corridor in Isle of Wight county, 460 Commerce Center will neighbor over 1.6 million square feet of existing industrial buildings housing nationally recognized companies such as Keurig Dr Pepper, Safco Products Company, and World Market. 460 Commerce Center will be one of only a handful of planned new industrial developments scheduled for completion next year. Groundbreaking is planned for this summer, with the building ready for occupancy in Q3/Q4 2024.

 

The building will feature 36’ clear height, eighty (80) dock doors at minimum, two (2) drive-in doors, ESFR fire suppression system, LED lighting, and up to 135 trailer parking spaces, among other anticipated features.

EDWARD JONES EXPANDS SMITHFIELD OFFICE


The Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the renovation and expansion of Edward Jones' Smithfield office located in Smithfield Commons at 1807 South Church Street, Suite 200B. Edward Jones is a 100-year-old financial services firm offering a variety of investment services for individuals including: retirement and estate planning, wealth strategies, education savings, investment products, insurance and annuities and more.

Officials Break Ground for New Smithfield DMV Office


State and town officials gathered in Smithfield on Friday, April 7, 2023, for a ceremonial groundbreaking for the state's newest Department of Motor Vehicles office. The Smithfield DMV closed its former location in 2020 due to the pandemic and did not reopen in 2021 due to its small lobby and lack of public restrooms. The new, 4,800 square-foot building, located on South Church Street between True Value and Dollar General is projected to open by the end of the year.

Windsor Farmers Market Opens May 5th!


The Windsor Farmers Market, established in 2020, opens its 4th season on May 5, 2023. The Market is a program of The Woman's Club of Windsor, Inc., and provides a place for local farmers, gardeners, producers and artisans to bring the very best food and products directly to the Windsor community. Sponsors include Anytime Fitness Windsor, TowneBank, Barnes, Brock, Cornwell & Heilman PLC and Old Point National Bank. The Market is open Fridays from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. through September in the parking lot of Old Point National Bank, 11407 Windsor Boulevard.
