Red Cross Update: Meeting a Need by Volunteering
There is an old adage that says, "If you see a need, meet it".........
.........Although fund-raising for the paint (for the renovations at the Red Cross project Cruz Joja) is underway, there is an immediate need to clean the facility before any paint is applied to the walls. Because of this, the women of the Coffee Klatch are holding a Cleaning Day on Thursday, September 11.
We are asking anyone who could spend about three hours helping us, to mark your calendar and join us when we meet at the Cruz Roja building in Chipipe at 9:00 AM. Click here for details on this opportunity to volunteer locally

Opinion-Editorial: My Love-Hate Relationship with Ecuador
I swear man, I have a love hate relationship with Ecuador.
Aww, I love Ecuador... as I wake to the sound of hundreds of birds chirping in my yard, I see why Ecuador is a top 3 destination in the world for bird watchers. Then my thought gets disrupted by the horrid screech of a neighbor's rooster, the same one that was crowing at 2am last night...I freakin' hate Ecuador.

Church on the Beach
There is a new trans-denominational English-speaking church that has formed in the Salinas area. It is called "Church on the Beach", the group meets at the Edificio Torremar Garden Room at 11 AM on Sunday morning.
It's an informal gathering, which includes blended worship and teaching from the Bible. We join together for snacks following the meeting. Steve and Romie Rassel began the group last year, and Buff and Lonna Ness are now the resident pastors.
Everyone is welcome, including our Ecuadorian friends!
