As a new school year begins for students in Hamilton, we are reminded of the importance of teaching Choosing Wisely principles to residents or trainees.
Evidence demonstrates that habits and behaviours learned in training around evidence-based care and resource stewardship influence how physicians practice throughout their careers. Tune in for a ‘back to school’ Choosing Wisely Talks webinar on Thursday September 7th at 12:00 p.m. to learn how residents and trainees are implementing the campaign in specialties such as radiology or through local quality improvement projects.
The webinar will be led by Karen Born, who co-leads Choosing Wisely's medical education efforts and Dr. Christopher Hillis, a hematologist at McMaster University and postgraduate medical education specialist, as well as Dr. Neil Kalra, a radiology resident from Saskatchewan.
Choosing Wisely Talks happen on the first Thursday of every month from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
