Issue 6: November 2021

Attention Juniors & Parents!

College Application Evening 11/11/21

Please join us for College Admissions Evening on Thursday, November 11th at 7pm. Learn the ins and outs of college admissions from one of the best, Mr. Jeremy Branch from Penn State University. During this session, he will discuss the college search, finding the right fit, funding a college education, and more. Due to this program’s popularity, it will be a live, virtual event. Q&A will be available at the end of the session. This program will be recorded and posted at a later date. A link will be sent closer to the date.

Parent Conference Day on Monday, November 29, 2021

Dear Conestoga Parent:

As the midway point in the first semester approaches, Conestoga faculty members and administrators are aware that you may wish to discuss your child’s progress to date. Because communication with parents is a key factor in student success, we invite you to be part of the 2021 Parent Conference Day on Monday, November 29, 2021. This year's November parent conference day will be held in-person, with the option to request a meeting via Microsoft Teams or phone if you prefer. The conference scheduling link, as well as your unique username and password for the scheduling system, can be found on the PowerSchool Parent Portal (https://powerschool.tesd.net/public) > Student Information Tab, just below the transportation information. Instructions for accessing the scheduling system can be found here.

You will need a PowerSchool account to retrieve your conference scheduling credentials. Please test your login to PowerSchool prior to the scheduling window opening. If you wish to meet virtually, please type "Virtual" in the comment field on the screen that is available after you schedule your conference. Your child's teacher will email you a meeting link prior to the conference. Parents who do not have internet access or who are unable to schedule online will still have the option of scheduling by phone by contacting 610-240-1069.

Teachers will be available on that day for fifteen-minute appointments between 12:00 and 3:55 PM and 5:20 PM and 7:35 PM. In addition, teachers will be available for unscheduled “drop in” sessions between 2:20-2:35 PM and 6:20-6:35 PM. Since the day will be devoted to parents meeting with teachers, students will not attend school on Monday, November 29, 2021.

In addition to scheduling conferences, PowerSchool's Parent Portal allows parents to view attendance, transportation, and demographic information for their child. While PowerSchool will remain open throughout the school year, online conference scheduling for the November conferences will only be available from November 3 (10:00 AM) through November 10 (11:55 PM).  Please limit requests to three teachers. If you are unable to schedule a conference with a particular teacher, we encourage you to reach out directly to teachers via email to discuss your student’s progress.

After the scheduling window closes on November 10, please call 610-240-1069 to see if there are available conference times for the teacher that you prefer to meet with or if you would like to make any changes. Should you need PowerSchool support, please email FamilyHelpDesk@tesd.net.

On Parent Conference Day, plan to:

  • Arrive a few minutes early (in person and virtual); appointments will be very tightly scheduled.
  • Enter the building through the main lobby. You will receive a map and room assignments.
  • Observe the fifteen-minute timeframe. Others will expect to meet at their scheduled times.

We look forward to your participation in the 2021 Fall Parent Conference Day and appreciate your cooperation in making this a successful event. Thank you for supporting Conestoga High School.

Sincerely,

James Bankert

Assistant Principal

Please click her for the updated CCHD guidance outlines the response to a negative antigen test.

Traffic Safety Reminders

  • DROP OFF – Parents may drop off in the front of the building using two lanes. The bus circle is available beginning at 7:40AM as an additional drop-off location.
  • PICK UP - Parents may pick up in the front of the building using two lanes. The bus circle is available at 3:00PM for parents to pick up students.
  • Please DO NOT use the Main Lot for drop-off and pick-up as it creates more congestion for our student drivers.
  • Drive slowly and carefully on school drop off areas and nearby roads.
  • Obey all traffic flow patterns and rules of the road.
  • Please be respectful of our neighbors. The Timothy School should not be used as a drop-off/pick-up location.
  • When dropping off and picking up students, please pull all the way up allowing traffic to flow.
  • Discuss pedestrian safety with your kids (use crosswalks/sidewalks, look both ways, don't "walk and text," etc).
