A Note from Scott and Marsha
October 17, 2019
If you made it out to one of our Fall Fun Days, you got to see the teamwork of FGS in full swing. From planning, to promoting, to setting up, to staffing, to tearing down...y'all. It takes a village. And I am pretty fond of my FGS village.

It's pretty cool when you work with so many talented people. After events like Fall Fun Days, I am convinced all the talents in the world are contained among a group of under 50 people at FGS. It is pretty insane and the synergy that comes with it is equally as fun and fulfilling.

Speaking of talents, let me share two of my favorites. First, we all know aging sucks. Not only do you experience pains that can change from day to day, but the hair? It turns gray. And you think why oh why did I have to get that from my gene pool ? So right now, I'm probably half gray and this poses a real issue for me. So what do I do? I turn to the person who is multi-talented and let him color my hair. Cough, Scott, cough. I know, right? Yes...I let him color my hair, but only when he is OOBER happy with me. Cause well, we all know what they say about paybacks. And so far, I've saved a ton of money and my hair hasn't fallen out.

Second, where else can you sit in a meeting and your co-worker can french braid your hair because it's hot and you forgot your clip? I know this sounds unprofessional and most of you working in a corporate environment probably just gasped. BUT I also know a lot of you work from home sitting around in your pajamas or workout clothes, listening to the Today Show in the background and multi-tasking laundry and such while you work. This is a judgement free zone, so yes, we may braid one another's hair. I may fry you an egg for breakfast while working on emails. We might chase goats before 8am. It's what we do and what makes us so special and unique.

Need a talent? I promise you we have it. Plant advice? Check. Design? Check. Houseplant ideas for your space? Check. Pumpkins, mums and pansies for your fall spaces? Humor and fun-loving atmosphere? Seriously. Check. Check. I mean it. There is plenty of fall fun left to be had and bought, so you should come check us out this weekend!
Purple Waffle Plant has Judy's heart this week. The chiffon-like purple and green leaves of this plant are what makes it so lovable. It is also an air-purifier so it removes toxins from the air. And if that weren't enough, it is pet-friendly! (Can I get an amen?!) These lovelies like bright, indirect light and like to stay moist. Just be careful not to overwater. Moist does not mean wet :)
Good things come to those who wait. If you need some practice with this, plant some bulbs this fall! Although you won't see the fruit of your labor until the spring, it is well worth the wait! :) What's even better about this is bulbs are 25% off now! Choose from daffodils, hyacinth, tulips and irises. We also have squirrel and deer repellent to keep the pesky pests away!
The azalea is well-known for the beautiful flowers it produces. The Encore Azalea is even more delightful because they bloom in both the spring and the fall. The evergreen foliage means these shrubs are beautiful all year long, with or without flowers. Now is the perfect time for planting shrubs. We also have spring-blooming azaleas with blooms in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes.
