THIS IS NOT A DRILL: 2020 is going to be a VERY important year. Beginning with the OC Women's March on January 18, continuing to the 1st California Super Tuesday primary and important local elections on March 3rd and then on to the Presidential election on November 3rd, 2020 is going to be filled with moments where Tustin Democrats can make a real difference in our local community as well as our country. To that end you can expect some additional emails spotlighting key election issues, important local races and get out the vote initiatives. Are you registered as a No Party Preference Voter? What you MUST DO if you want to vote in the California Presidential primary on March 3rd . If you are a registered with No Party Preference and vote-by-mail, you will be receiving a postcard from your county elections office to request a primary ballot with presidential candidates. Please complete and return this postcard ASAP. No Party Preference voters can request to vote for Democratic, American Independent, or Libertarian party presidential candidates in the March 3, 2020 primary. Why can No Party Preference voters only vote for Democratic, American Independent, or Libertarian party presidential candidates? The political parties get to decide if they will allow No Party Preference voters to vote in their presidential primary. If No Party Preference voters want to vote for Republican, Green, or Peace & Freedom party presidential candidates in the March 3, 2020 primary, they must re-register to vote with that specific party. You can re-register at: http://RegisterToVote.ca.gov The Secretary of State’s office has launched a new website to provide all California voters with their options for voting for president in the March 3, 2020 Primary. At the OC Women’s March this year, we want to emphasize everything we are going to accomplish this year . Our county’s strength was confirmed in November 2018 when the activism in Orange County fueled the biggest transformation our county has ever seen - 2020 will be another year of great transformation and change for the better! Congresswoman Katie Porter is ending the year with a new position on the Oversight committee because of her expert questioning style in Congressional hearings. Lawrence O'Donnell talks with the Congresswoman about where she learned her Q&A techniques, how much the Democrats accomplished in 2019 and how the transition from single mom to Congresswoman went for Porter in her first year on Capitol Hill.

Pelosi announces Porter, Haaland will sit on Oversight panel BY  RACHEL FRAZIN  - 12/17/19 08:09 PM EST House Speaker  Nancy Pelosi  (D-Calif.) announced Tuesday that Reps. Katie Porter (D-Calif.) and  Deb Haaland  (D-N.M.) will join the House Oversight Committee.  Pelosi praised Porter and Haaland, both of whom are first-term lawmakers, in a statement on Tuesday. She called Porter an "unparalleled champion for consumers and working families across America," and said that Haaland has "distinguished herself as a patriotic, persistent leader." "The leadership of these outstanding Members will be vital in advancing the Committee’s work at this important time in our nation’s history: ensuring that the Congress can function as our Founders intended, as a co-equal branch acting as a check and balance on the others, and that our Democratic Majority can continue to achieve progress For The People," the speaker added. Porter said in a Tuesday tweet that she was "excited" to join the committee.

The Oversight Committee is the House's main investigative panel and was one of the committees that was part of the impeachment inquiry into  President Trump .
