Downtown On the Go
presents the Transportation Innovator Awards annually to acknowledge and celebrate work being done that helps meet the Downtown On the Go goal of reducing the number of single-occupancy vehicles by 11 percent in downtown Tacoma. Nominees are selected for one of five awards, based on
five categories.
Each year, nominees are reviewed by a committee and Downtown On the Go recognizes the Transportation Innovator Award Winners at our Annual Luncheon.

On October 13, people around Tacoma were treated to Bird, scooters for rent, located downtown and in Old Town, clustered together in nests.
Bird believes the availability of alternate transportation modes like scooters will help increase economic vitality in the downtown area by increasing the likelihood to frequent businesses outside of walking distance or with limited parking.
