At the regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education on June 15, Laguna Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) school principals and district staff presented highlights and outcomes related to the district areas of focus for the 2022-23 academic year. The areas of focus are:

  1. College and Career Readiness Skills

  3. Safe, Equitable and Inclusive Schools

The presentation provided an overview of the programs and activities planned for the 2023-24 school year to enhance student engagement, promote equity and inclusion and expand social-emotional learning programs. In 2016, Superintendent Viloria introduced the district's collective commitments to (1) Every student, every day; (2) Relationships matter; and (3) Continuous Improvement. The collective commitments are the foundation for establishing district goals and actions and maintaining continuity year-over-year.
