LBUSD introduces new Coordinator of Environmental Literacy position and reports on progress toward goal of carbon neutrality by 2030

On Thursday evening, at its regularly scheduled meeting, the Laguna Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) Board of Education approved a new teacher on special assignment (TOSA) position and job description for Coordinator of Environmental Literacy to lead the district's efforts in implementing environmental literacy education and the LBUSD Sustainability Plan. The application for the Coordinator of Environmental Literacy is expected to open in May. Facilities Master Planning Community Open Houses

The Laguna Beach Unified School District is hosting community open houses throughout April and May to gather community feedback that will inform updates to the district’s Ten-Year Facilities Master Plan. The recommended updates to the plan include capital improvement projects at all school sites identified by a facilities master planning committee.

Board receives Student Services Update on Mental Health, School Nurse Support and Special Education

Director of Social and Emotional Support Michael Keller, Ed.D., and Director of Special Education Irene White provided an update on school-based programs for mental health, nursing and special education. The presentation included an overview of services available to students and families.
