Board of Education directs staff to add 50-meter pool to Ten Year Facilities Master Plan

The Laguna Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) Board of Education on Thursday evening reached a 4-1 consensus, with Member Dee Perry opposing, to direct staff to include a 50-meter pool in the district's Ten Year Facilities Master Plan (FMP). The Board also directed staff to establish a joint committee with the City of Laguna Beach to discuss shared use interests. The committee will include city and district staff, two board members, and two city council members. President Vickers and Member Osborne will represent the board on the committee.

The annual update to the FMP was introduced in March 2023, which presented to the board a comprehensive review of all existing district-owned facilities and highlighted the remaining capital improvement projects identified in the plan when it was established in 2015. The 2023 update to the FMP will be brought back to the board for approval at a regularly scheduled meeting.
