ADHD by the Numbers: Key CDC Insights

Did you know that ADHD affects millions of children in the U.S.? Here are some key statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

  • Prevalence: An estimated 7 million (11.4%) U.S. children aged 3–17 years have ever been diagnosed with ADHD, based on a 2022 national survey.
  • Gender Differences: Boys (15%) are nearly twice as likely to be diagnosed with ADHD compared to girls (8%).
  • Co-occurring Conditions: Nearly 78% of children with ADHD have at least one other condition, such as behavioral problems, anxiety, or depression.

These statistics highlight the importance of early intervention, supportive environments, and access to quality care for children with ADHD.
