FORT LAUDERDALE'S NO-KILL ANIMAL SHELTER

Do you know where the expression
the Dog Days of Summer comes from?
The  dog days of summer  are the hot, sultry  days of summer . They were historically the period following the heliacal rising of the star Sirius, which Greek and Roman astrology connected with heat, drought, sudden thunderstorms, lethargy, fever, mad  dogs , and bad luck.
APR'S NEWSLETTER begins with our column... Pets, People & Pointers, unveils our new "Every Picture Tells A Story" Gallery, PLUS meet Allie Katz...APR's blogger. Read her stories about the animals in her life and about the difference you can make in the lives of so many other animals.
