The Redemp tion of Scrooge: An Advent Study

Let this study of Charles Dickens ' classic novel,  A Christmas Carol, help move you from "Bah! Humbug! " to a blessed Advent and merry Christmas. Through the lenses of literature, art, and entertainment we will explore and discover how God is working in and through us and in the world around us to tell God 's great story of redemption.  Join in this church-wide study and discussion.
Create a Christmas Card
Sunday, November 27
10-11:45 a.m., Fellowship Hall

Explore your creativity and make a handmade card to send to one of our homebound members. We will have a sample card as a template, instructions to follow and all the supplies you need to make one of your own. Experienced card-makers will be there to encourage and assist. Then place your card in an addressed envelope, knowing it will bring joy to our dear friends.

Reserve Your " Christmas Carol " Tickets Now

As part of our Victorian-themed Luncheon and Parlor Concert on Sunday, December 11, we have the opportunity to buy tickets to see the Children 's Theater of Madison 's production of "A Christmas Carol " in a 2:30 p.m. matinee performance at the Overture Center that afternoon. Tickets cost $22 each and must be reserved by Monday, November 28.
Bake an Extra Batch for the Cookie Walk
Sunday, December 4 

As you plan your holiday baking please consider making an extra dozen of your Christmas specialty for our church 's Christmas Cookie Walk that will take place during the coffee fellowship time on Sunday, December 4.

Circuit Conference Meeting

Our District Superintendent, Scott Carlson, has changed the format of the annual church conference by combining the Madison Circuit of United Methodist churches   for a joint meeting. First Church members are invited to attend.   The meeting will include doing the business of our   Church Conference including reports and items that need to be voted on.
