Now that the dog days of summer - aka hot, humid, sweltering - are upon us, don't forget that New Canaan offers reduced price Senior Citizen passes for Waveny Pool for all residents 62 years and up. The cost of a pass is $80 for the season. Not only does the pass allow access to the pool, but to Kiwanis Park as well. In case you haven't been to Kiwanis in a while, there have been a number of improvements there, including conveniently located restrooms, a snack bar, shaded picnic tables, and several large umbrellas on the beach.

A Long Petal of the Sea

Goodreads reviews this novel saying, "A masterful work of historical fiction about hope, exile, and belonging, A Long Petal of the Sea shows Isabel Allende at the height of her powers."
Watermelon Mint Salad
