WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24TH IS EREV YOM HASHOAH, HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE DAY
The Brotherhood previously mailed Yellow Candles to all Synagogue members. Please light them on Wednesday evening in memory of the 6 Million who died and to take action to confront hate today.
Thank you to those who have already provided a donation to the Brotherhood. If you have not, we hope you will take this opportunity to send in a donation in honor of this day. All contributions above our cost of providing you with the candles, will be distributed to the ADL, the University of Hartford’s Greenberg Center and Voices of Hope.

| | Help for Refugee Families Needed! | | |
The refugee crisis and its dramatic loss of funding has affected many families entering the United States. Assistance is needed throughout our state.
All donations are greatly appreciated. Volunteers also are always welcome - to deliver items, drive family members to appointments or just to have a friendly face introduce new English words. A few household items are still needed including a washer, dryer & cordless vacuum cleaner.
Thank you from The Emanuel Social Action Committee. For questions, contact Hilda Slivka.

"For my Bar Mitzvah Project I would like to collect and distribute art and craft supplies to children who may not have access to them. I love doing all kinds of art projects, and I feel fortunate to have the supplies that I need to create them. It is clear to me that everyone is not as lucky as me in that way. I will deliver the supplies to the Boys and Girls Clubs in inner city Hartford, so that the children can enjoy them. There will be a collection box for these in the synagogue lobby. Thank you very much for considering a contribution for this cause."

Eli & Avi Sholovitz
“We are Eli and Avi Sholovitz and we have nearly arrived at our big B’Nai Mitzvah day. As part of this milestone, we are doing something we care about to help the community, a mitzvah!!! We need your help to complete this, because we are working with the Connecticut Humane Society to help animals find loving homes. In our family, we have lived with dogs for our whole life and we have rescued all but one of them. If you want to help with our project, we are asking for donations of money and supplies for the animals.
If you wish to donate in support of our project, you can either Venmo our mom (Venmo: Sara-Michele-2) who is helping us with this collection or you can donate much-needed goods and supplies at the Synagogue.
