Hello! Welcome spring! Or should I say summer with the warmer temperatures we've had these past few weeks? Spring is one of my favorite seasons. With longer days, warm sunshine, and the bright colors of new foliage, for me, it's one of life's simple pleasures.

Another simple pleasure of mine is reading Design magazines and articles. One of my favorites from Schumacher is their quarterly magazine, Frederic. This large, glossy piece with photos of beautifully designed rooms is a feast for the design eye. Their weekly newsletter provides a smaller dose of design tips and inspirations and is always worth a quick read. In this newsletter, I share with you a recent article from Schumacher on Ticking Stripes. TICKING STRIPES

Ticking stripe fabric was developed as a sturdy, practical canvas-like fabric used for matresses and pillows, heavy duty work aprons, coveralls and even tents. Today, ticking stripes can be woven or printed on various base cloths from thick upholstery for furniture to the sheerest cottons for draperies.

Ticking stripes create a signature look, and are a favorite for interior designers to use for window coverings. Since they read like a neutral, ticking stripes pair nicely with florals, toiles or other bold stripes, rendering it a highly versatile fabric to fit in any decor.
