TIPS & INFO FOR MOVING OFF-CAMPUS
|
|
Students must move out 24 hours after the last final or by Saturday, June 15 at 6 p.m. Move out day is the same day as Commencement Ceremonies making the campus extremely busy. Students living on campus will be informed about the Move Out procedure. In the meantime, strongly consider the following tips for a more manageable move out experience:
- If your student is local to San Diego, move things out in increments starting now.
- Students living out of state or internationally should consider renting a storage facility to begin moving items or consider mailing items home ahead of time.
- Students should start researching and securing a storage location so they can prepare and arrange for transportation to and from the storage unit.
- Encourage your student to participate in the Residence Move Out Zero Waste Drive.
- Prior to finals, students should sit down with their roommates to negotiate who is cleaning what. The last person leaving should not be left cleaning everything.
- Some of the colleges have listed move out procedures on their website. For others, please check-back later.

TRAVEL SMART OVER THE SUMMER
|
|
Travel Information for International Students in F-1 and J-1 Status
Is your international student going home or traveling over the summer? International students in F-1 and J-1 status who are planning to travel internationally should ensure that they have all the necessary documentation for travel and re-entry to the U.S., this includes a valid travel signature on the I-20 (F-1 students) or DS-2019 (J-1 students) document. The International Students & Programs Office has detailed travel and reentry information at
itravel.ucsd.edu
.

|
Attention Non-U.S. Citizen Students
: Students who plan to travel this summer must bring proper identification/immigration documents. Adequate documentation includes passports, Employment Authorization Document, lawful permanent resident card and/or state-issued IDs. DACA recipients may not travel out of the country at this time. Going to some areas of the U.S. may not be recommended for undocumented students due to the active presence of immigration officers. We highly recommend scheduling an appointment with Undocumented Student Services for a private consultation and assessment of your travel plans.
