It’s Baby Bird Season!

The phones are ringing and we’re getting lots of baby birds in each day. We’re soon going to be up to our ears with all these hungry little mouths –  and frankly, we need your help . Over the next 4 months or so, we will be caring for the majority of the 3,000 birds we treat each year. And after last fall’s wild fires and the horrific impact they had on the natural habitats of our native birds, that number could well be even greater.

In the wake of the fires, with so many families and businesses displaced and in need, what is typically our biggest fundraising season fell well below normal. And with so many pressing priorities in our community, it was difficult to ask for more. Now, however, as we enter both the busiest and costliest time of year, we find we need to ask.  To successfully treat and release back to the wild this daunting number of birds, we need to raise $75,000 .  And this year, more than any, we feel it imperative to save every bird possible to replenish the bird populations as their habitats recover.
As a past supporter - whether a member, a volunteer, a rescuer, a donor or a property owner where we returned a bird - we are turning to you for help. Remember, from raptors helping to control rodent populations, to songbirds who eat insects, these birds are important to our environment. So please, as you have in the past, be generous in your support.
