A Project Green Schools Success Story...Inspiring the Next Generation!

Project Green Schools could not be more proud to share this story from one of our former PGS Student Ambassadors, Carol Bowe. Congratulations!
"I remember writing a letter to my kindergarten teacher at the end of the year, in which I described how I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. Many young kids say that they want to be a superstar or a circus performer and do not pursue it later in life. However, my desire to teach followed me into high school. In my sophomore year of high school, I became a Project Green Schools Ambassador. I had already been doing environmentally work for two years at my own high school, but I wanted to branch out. I was passionate about the work I was doing and wanted to continue it. That same year I began taking physics for the first time, finding yet another passion. However, my passion for physics turned me away from my goal of becoming a teacher as I decided to “do” physics instead of teaching it. I had heard the phrase “Those who can’t do, teach” often enough that it stuck. I was good enough to “do” physics and so I decided to be an engineer. I continued as a Project Green Schools ambassador...." Read More
Get Ready for the NEW "12 Pathways for Greening Your School!"

Ready to be excited?! We have new stuff for you. And it. Is. GOOD! We've been hard at work re-vamping our  "12 Pathways for Greening Your School" resource for you, and are really eager to share it with you! The idea behind this re-work has been to make it more user-friendly, as well as an active, living, breathing engagement piece.

Imagine if you will a true, authentic, and FUN STEM challenge that goes completely viral and sweeps the nation... nay, the world. Well, you don't have to imagine anymore because it's here. We understand that students of all ages have an innate desire to want to make a difference. Sometimes, though, the type of change they are seeking can seem a little daunting.

The Pathways were created with that in mind as a way to make it easier to align students' innate desire with their personal interest. With this new model, we are simply kicking it up a notch. Or, two. Or, ten!  Now get on your mark. Get ready. We'll be going LIVE soon!

Engage Your Schools and Students About Our Oceans

Ocean Ambassadors has announced two new exciting ways for schools to engage with the global issues surrounding marine debris, and waste plastics in our oceans. First, Ocean Ambassadors have opened their flagship, S.V. Moanafor to 400 students this coming year. Specializing in 7 day voyages in Fiji. Visiting islands and collecting rubbish is only part of the journey.

Second, with the ever-growing consciousness on the effects of waste plastic in our oceans, you can now participate in your everyday practice. Ocean Ambassadors has developed a school engagement program to minimize your footprint, and bring the schools overall awareness up to speed. With multiple levels on offer, there’s something for every school. Even up to having a personal visit on-sight for presentations, a hands on audit and solutions manual to keeping your learning center as low impact as possible.

Help Us Bring Project Green Schools to More Schools!

People are asking  "What can I do to   protect our environment?"

With the U.S. deciding to leave the Paris Accord, never before has there been a more important time to protect our environment and shape the future.  Creating a culture of environmental concern and action starts with students. In every school. In every state. Across the U.S. And we can make a green difference. From the ground up.

This spring and summer Project Green Schools is growing a Giving Tree. We are looking for businesses, organizations, government leaders and individuals who share our vision to make a commitment now and help us grow our Giving Tree. We need your help.
