Happy Banned Books Week! From October 5-11, Banned Books Week celebrates the freedom to read and spotlights current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries and schools. Redwood City Public Library stands against book banning. We center our service priorities around inclusive programs, services and books that lead to equitable outcomes for members of the highly diverse community we serve.

Don't miss the Redwood City Library Foundation's 4th Annual Upscale Pub Crawl on October 8, 5-9pm, celebrating Banned Books Week. Enjoy a night out supporting local businesses while fighting censorship (Censorship is so 1984!).

For the second year in a row, we are holding a special all-ages program in honor of Filipino American History Month! On October 18, from 11am-1pm in the Family Place of the Downtown Library, immerse yourself in vibrant Filipino culture. We'll have a historical talk, traditional dance performance and a Filipino cuisine demonstration by Chef Andrew Arceo. Chef Arceo will share his passion for Filipino flavors, offering delicious tastings along with an interactive cooking experience.

Save the date for the last Friends of the Redwood City Public Library donation event of the year: Saturday October 18. Donations are sold in the Friends of the Library Bookstore at the Downtown Library and the Kiosk at the Redwood Shores Branch Library. Sales fund library programs.
