Rochester, NY – June 28, 2025 – It's the final day of the 22nd Edition Rochester International Jazz Festival in partnership with Rochester Regional Health. What an amazing festival it has been.


Tonight, on the Wegmans Stage at the Parcel 5 festival, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue return to RIJF for their ninth performance. Helium Bubble opens at 7 PM. FREE! No tickets are required. Food and drinks are available.


A full lineup will be presented in the ten Club Pass venues. Enter with a Club Pass or $30 ($35 at Kilbourn Hall) at the door. 


Free concerts will go on from 3:45 to 10:30 p.m. on the City of Rochester Jazz Street Stage presented by the Community Foundation, at 6 p.m. in the Rochester Regional Health Big Tent, at 7 and 9 p.m. at the Wegmans Pavilion, and wrapping up the night with Squeezers Jam Session at the Hyatt Regency Rochester, starting at 10:30 p.m.

The nine-day festival will present more than 285 concerts at 18 venues in downtown Rochester, New York, including 110-plus free shows and 1,750-plus artists. Founded in 2002, the festival has become one of the world’s leading and largest jazz festivals.

Born Troy Andrews, Trombone Shorty got his start (and nickname) earlier than most: at four, he made his first appearance at Jazz Fest performing with Bo Diddley; at six, he was leading his own brass band; and by his teenage years, he was hired by Lenny Kravitz to join the band he assembled for his Electric Church World Tour. Shorty’s proven he’s more than just a horn player, though. Catch a gig, open the pages of the New York Times or Vanity Fair, flip on any late-night or morning TV show and you’ll see an undeniable star with utterly magnetic charisma, a natural born showman who can command an audience with the best of them. The celebrated jazz harmonicist, bandleader, composer ieducator is based in New York City. Known for his innovative artistry, he has released five highly praised albums as a leader, including *Listen!* (2023) and *Jobim’s World* (2024) on Sunnyside Records. Prené has collaborated with jazz greats such as Peter Bernstein, Rick Margitza, Bill Stewart, and Geoffrey Keezer.

Allison Au (pronounced “ow”) is a JUNO award-winning Canadian saxophonist, composer and arranger. She has toured extensively throughout Canada and the US. The unhinged freedom of improvisation captivated Allison and quickly became her lab for self-expression and exploration.
