Meet Bao

A New Beginning: Bao Finds Joy and Belonging at

Parc Center’s Burkett Villa

Meet Bao, a 37-year-old resident at Parc Center for Disabilities. Bao, originally from Vietnam, grew up surrounded by his family, including his three loving sisters. For many years, his family cared for him at home, but in February, after his father’s stroke, they faced the challenging decision to find him a new home where he could be cared for with compassion and support throughout his life. When they toured Parc, they immediately felt the warmth and care at Burkett Villa, knowing it was a place where Bao would thrive.

Taking Steps Toward Leadership: Parc Residents Apply for Family Care Council!

Parc Center for Disabilities is proud to partner with our local @Family Care Council of Pinellas and Pasco counties, and even more excited to share that 3 of our Parc residents are in the application phase to become official Family Care Council Board Members!

In 1993, the Florida Legislature created the Family Care Councils in each service area of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) to advise the agency, develop a plan for the delivery of family support services within the local area, and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of services and supports provided under the plan.

Mark your calendars for Giving Tuesday on December 3, 2024! This global movement encourages individuals to come together in the spirit of generosity and make a positive impact. Whether it’s through donations, volunteering, spreading awareness, or simply showing your support, there are many ways to join us in celebrating and giving back. Stay tuned to our social media channels for more ways to participate. Let’s make a difference together!
