Our new Youth & Family Centered initiative provides healing space for youth and their parents. Supporting families in utilizing the earth and the dirt as their playground for healing through trust-building & team-building activities in partnership with Madison Metropolitan School District we'll be able to run 3 cohorts this spring through the fall. Supporting Healthy Black Families' Homeless Outreach Initiative
Urban Triage's Homeless Outreach Initiative got started in December of 2020. We pride ourselves on building partnerships and relationships to address the complex needs of those we serve. We've learned a lot of lessons in the last 5 months. The most important lesson we've learned is to show up no matter what. Show up, even when folks don't trust you; even when folks communicate their trauma in working with systems--we show up anyway. Because we know that trust-building takes time; we know that trust is the number one ingredient of serving those that are most vulnerable. The 2nd most important lesson we've learned is to make space for our Outreach Specialists to take time to fill their cups, so they have what they need to fill the cups of others. We're committed to addressing gaps in services for people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurities; we're committed to showing up and figuring it when unpredictable situations occur.

If you would like to be a part of the team of volunteers, community partners, and staff who are working together to serve those who are the most vulnerable amongst us click below. If you would like to donate essentials items, click below.
Supporting Healthy Black Families' Workgroup

We are on the move!! We're graduating our 5th oohort on May 15, 2021, and starting our 6th cohort on May 18, 2021!

As stated perfectly by a current participant: "Supporting Healthy Black Families' supported me in so many ways including providing me with a community to call my own when I needed it the most. They helped me heal. They helped me see my greatness when I fell hard into depression. I recently moved here from the south and immediately felt disconnected and lost. SHBF has supported me not in just finding my purpose but also in building a solid understanding of systems and how to survive them. I no longer feel disconnected. I no longer feel lost. I feel at home"

Join us as we embark on the journey of self-discovery and transformation. If you or someone you know is interested in joining our next cohort starting May 18, 2021, click the link below!

Then sign up below for our Co-Conspirator workgroup. It's designed to bring about a positive, permanent shift in how we define and understand the depth of breadth of white supremacist patriarchal capitalism and how to work together in our fight for Black Lives.

We're currently on our 2nd cohort of our Co-conspirator Workgroup and boy is it life changing.

“I never expected the training to deal with my personal trauma. I never knew or even considered that white people are traumatized by white supremacy. To learn distinctions and names for my experience and be lead to experience aha moments and breakthroughs ---I have no words for it. Its nothing like I expected. This is more then history--this is how to be human. Who knew that soical justice was more about humanity actualizing then it was about getting it right?Life-changing is an understatement. I am forever thankful/grateful to this class, UT, and Brandi for this transformational experience & education.”

Join our next cohort starting on June 2nd, 2021, by signing up below. Be the change you want to see in the world.
