What's new at the library

Rock Garden

We'll be having two rock-painting events in May to spruce up the rock garden for the summer; feel free to bring your own rock-art to make our garden grow.

Summer Reading 2025

It's that time of year again! Monday, June 2nd will be our Launch Party for "Reading Under the Stars," a summer full of programs, prizes, contests, and best of all: books!

Summer Reading is for ALL AGES from 0-110, so sign up the whole family and join in the fun!

New Holiday Dropbox Closures

Because of incidents of damaged materials from overfull boxes, we will now be closing the drop boxes on holidays when the library is closed. This does NOT include our regular Sunday closures. Patrons are never charged late fees, but if items are left outside the drop box they will be charged for any damages. We will post reminders in the weeks leading up to a closure. Please do not leave any items outside the drop boxes. If you have any questions, feel free to give us a call! And thank you for understanding as we try to preserve materials for future borrowers.

Shred Day: Save the Date

Gather your paper odds and ends, because the Friends of the Library will be hosting a Shred Day on Saturday, June 7th, from 9a-12p! Shred Day will be sponsored by Hydro Aluminum. Shred 2 boxes for free and leave a donation for any additional shredding.

Finding Margaret Fuller

by Allison Pataki

Recommended by Deb

From hosting a women-only literary salon in Boston to becoming the first woman permitted entry to Harvard's library, Margaret defies societal conventions as an activist for women's rights and a champion for humanity. On the gritty New York streets, she spars with Edgar Allan Poe and reports on the work of Frederick Douglass. And when offered an assignment in Europe by editor Horace Greeley, Margaret becomes the first female foreign news correspondent, mingling with the likes of Frédéric Chopin, William Wordsworth, and George Sand. In Rome, she embarks on a passionate love affair with a Roman count, causing an international scandal. As a mother and a countess, Margaret enters a new fight for Italy's unification.
