Good Neighbor Day of Giving is Today! | | A Word From Our Executive Director | | |
As we celebrate Good Neighbor Health Clinic's 33rd anniversary, today April 25th, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride for the incredible work we do every day. Working here has truly been the greatest privilege of my life. It has been inspiring to witness the transformations our patients undergo as they receive the essential health and dental services they need—at no cost to them.
For so many in our community, access to care is a barrier—whether due to financial challenges, lack of insurance, or other systemic inequities. Our clinic exists to remove those barriers. It’s our mission to ensure that no one is turned away, regardless of their ability to pay. We are deeply committed to advancing health equity and addressing the disparities that affect the most vulnerable neighbors.
I am incredibly grateful to our donors, volunteers, and partners whose support makes this work possible. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to continue offering the vital services that help people regain their health, confidence, and future. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have already met our initial $5,000 match! But we still need your help to reach our goal of $10,000. Every donation—no matter the size—helps us continue offering the vital services that so many in our community rely on. Thank you for helping us reach this milestone and for continuing to support our mission of care, compassion, and equity.
With Gratitude,

In Memory of Ceil Furlong
The Ceil Furlong Memorial Fund
Honoring a Life of Compassionate Service
With deep gratitude and affection, we dedicate this memorial fund in loving memory of Ceil Furlong, a devoted volunteer whose kindness, dedication, and quiet strength continue to inspire all of us at Good Neighbor Health Clinic. Her name is spoken with warmth by those who worked alongside her, and her legacy lives on in the care and compassion she showed to every person who walked through our doors. She gave her time selflessly, always guided by a deep belief in the dignity of every patient and the power of community.
For Ceil, every moment was an opportunity to create connection, offer comfort, and bring light into someone’s life. Her impact was nothing short of miraculous to those she served.
This memorial fund has been established to assist patients facing the most urgent and dire medical needs—those who are most vulnerable, with nowhere else to turn. It is a reflection of Ceil’s generous spirit and her unwavering commitment to easing the burdens of others.
We remember Ceil with love, admiration, and a promise to carry forward the work she held dear. Her light continues to guide us.

With Gratitude for a Valued Partner in Community Health
As Michael Redmond prepares to retire later this year as Executive Director of the Upper Valley Haven, we want to express our heartfelt thanks for his extraordinary leadership. When people are unhoused, hungry, or struggling to navigate crises, their health outcomes suffer—and their ability to thrive becomes further out of reach. Our collaboration with the Haven has made it possible to meet these challenges head-on, helping individuals and families stabilize, recover, and move forward.
We are grateful to Michael for the spirit of shared mission he brought to this work and wish him all the best in this next chapter. We remain committed to continuing our strong collaboration with the Upper Valley Haven in service of a healthier, more equitable Upper Valley for all.

Kara brings nearly 15 years of experience in healthcare, beginning her career in a nursing home and more recently working with her local ambulance service. She’s currently pursuing her EMT certification, continuing her commitment to direct, hands-on care. She’s excited to bring her experience into her new role at the clinic, and looks forward to building connections with patients, providers, and the rest of the team.
Outside of work, Kara is a mom to two daughters, ages 10 and 6. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and has a goal to complete all 48 of New Hampshire’s 4,000-foot peaks—she’s currently at 29!
We’re happy to have her here—be sure to say hello if you see her around!

Our Harm Reduction Vending Machine is Live!
For the past few weeks, our harm reduction vending machine has been quietly meeting people where they are — providing 24/7, anonymous access to essential supplies that support health, safety, and dignity.
Stocked with items like Narcan (naloxone) to reverse opioid overdoses, wound care kits to prevent infection, menstrual products to ensure basic hygiene, and sun care supplies to reduce risk of sun-related skin damage, the machine is designed to remove barriers to care — no ID, no cost, no judgment.
Thanks to donations from our community, it’s also stocked with items like toothpaste and other daily necessities that help people maintain a sense of normalcy and personal care — things too often overlooked in conversations about public health.
We’ll continue to share updates as this resource evolves. The goal is simple: make it easier for people to take care of themselves and each other, one practical step at a time.
