Alumni . We Are Hyde
June 2020 Newsletter
Greetings!
" You can't be the best at everything so figure out what you are good at and how that can complement what you are doing and who you are working with. "

- Ann Bell HAPA and Hyde Trustee

Ann shared her wisdom and her leadership journey with our female community as the Keynote speaker at our Senior Ladies Gathering in late May. Ann, along with her mentor and longtime business partner, Gail Federici, founded the John Frieda hair care line and have continued a lifelong partnership. Their complementary skill sets make them a dynamic team and they continue to develop and market new successful products in the beauty industry decades later.

Ann said " I ask myself how I can complement her? How can I develop my strengths to move this company forward? How can we work together rather than trying to be what the other one is?" and advised members of the Hyde female community to "develop your area of expertise and talents and don't worry about being everything to everyone."

Thank you, Ann, for your inspiring talk!

News & Events

  • Senior evaluations and graduation led to alot of journaling and reflection.

Here's a journaling exercise from Hyde's Family Ed Program:

  • Draw a heart on a piece of paper.
  • On the outside, write worlds that describe the public image you show to the world. (Examples: confident, caring, tough, funny, carefree, happy, cool, angry)
  • Now, write the words on the inside of the heart that tell you how you feel inside, but do not always show on the outside. (Examples: scared, caring, hurt, loving, angry, self-doubt, hopeful)
  • What do you notice? How are the worlds similar and different?
  • What is the public image you portray in your family (with friends, co-workers, etc.)?

Because of Hyde...

my son, Stratton, and I have grown as individuals and grown closer together. I am proud of my son for graduating in May. I am proud to say that he graduated from Hyde.

This month, I'm fulfilling my gift commitment that I made at Fall Family Weekend. Now more than ever, Hyde needs our annual fund support.
