With the myriad of new large projects in our region-Switch, Tesla, and others-special attention needs to be paid to the lien processes to assure timely payment.  Caryn Tijsseling, Esq of Lemons Grundy Eisenberg will share "must know" information if a company is supplying labor or materials on this type of project.  Registration details forthcoming, but save the date.

Legislative Committee Update

Through the provisions contained within SB 411, a legislative bill signed by the governor last month, BANN has been requested to participate on a committee that will evaluate and recommend whether the Washoe County School District should request a ballot question to raise revenue for construction and rehabilitation of our schools.  If you have an interest in representing our industry on this committee, please contact our Executive Director, Teri Scharosch, at 775-329-4611 or e-mail TeriS@TheBuilders.com.  The BANN Board of Directors will appoint our representative at its June 25th meeting.  We're proud that BANN, which represents nearly 500 construction-related businesses and their employees, will be the building industry representative on the committee and we look forward to tackling this important issue for our community and its citizens.

The National Green Building Standard Green Certification (NGBS) Program has reached a major milestone with certification of the 50,000th home to meet its requirements.

Kudos to Di Loreto Homes whose La Casata Community is the only project in northern Nevada that is certified to the standard.
