As 2018 draws to a close, I am reflecting on the warm and gracious reception we received as we traveled the state this year. Our work took us to Havre, Chinook, Great Falls, Marysville, Boulder, Elkhorn, Fort Benton, Polson, Bigfork, Columbia Falls, Kalispell, Whitefish, Missoula, Butte, Bozeman, Big Sky, Billings, Red Lodge, Lewistown, Miles City, Glendive, and Sidney. What a terrific year!
When we travel,
we help communities identify and plan historic interpretation and preservation projects
. We meet with donors who care about preservation, and we put their generous dollars to work where they can make the biggest difference: local community projects.
Thanks to our donors, more than 30 individual community-based projects were funded in 2018
. Next year we’ll extend our reach to even more cemeteries, historic schoolhouses, museums, theaters, and historic trails. It’s all part of bringing people together for history!
Wishing you a wonderful holiday season,
Charlene Porsild, President/CEO
