It's National Assistant Principal Week

We are thankful for our Assistant Principals! We have a great group that is talented and dedicated. The work they do direcly impact the quality of education that the children of Jasper County receive. They should be proud of their hard work. As a symbol of our appreciation, we gave our assistant principals a gift bag. We hope they enjoy the gifts and have a restful spring break.

RES Scholars are Beaufort Jasper Water & Sewer Authority

Art Contest Winners!

Beaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority held a drawing contest in honor of World Water Day for 4th and 5th graders in Beaufort and Jasper County Schools, students were asked to draw the BJWSA mascots Flow or Swampy practicing a water saving habit. This project allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of the value of water through turning the water off while brushing your teeth and using reusable water bottles instead of plastic. Two of our very own Ridgeland Elementary School students were recognized as winners for their exceptional artwork and water-saving practices! Congratulations to RES students Devin Hernandez Martinez and Gemma Alvarado Velasquez for winning the Beaufort Jasper Water & Sewer Authority Art Contest.

District-Wide Testing: 2022-2023 SC READY and End of Course Assessments

JCSD's Mock Text Dependent Analysis (TDA) Will Make a Positive Impact

Practice makes perfect! Students in grades 3-8 and EOCEP English 2 Writing Component of Jasper County School District participated in JCSD’s Text Dependent Analysis (TDA) Mock Day on Thursday, March 30, 2023.

What is Text Dependent Analysis (TDA)

  • Students are given a reading passage and are asked to complete a writing prompt related to the passage.

The prompt requires that the students…

  • Closely read the text (comprehension).
  • Analyze the text as guided by the prompt,
  • Write an essay to provide supporting evidence from the text.

Reading comprehension is an area that the District has identified as an essential area of focus for all students. Improving a student's ability to read and critically analyze text is a way to help the student get better results in every subject and in all aspects of their lives.

Individual student reports will be distributed to students to take home. Data from individual student reports will guide writing instruction to improve student success and achievement.
