Biltmore Championship Asheville - Birdies for Charity

Haywood Street Congregation has been selected as a participating nonprofit in Biltmore's Birdies for Charity. Check out the link below to learn about this opportunity to support Haywood Street. When you donate, you have the chance to guess the number of birdies in the upcoming Biltmore Championship Asheville to win the Ultimate Biltmore Experience.

Participating charities will receive 100% of every donation collected for their organization, as well as a portion of funds from a bonus pool of $50,000 provided by Biltmore Championship Asheville.

Haywood Street Highlights

Last Friday, Jenny and Laura B. from Haywood St. staff, hiked at the Arboretum alongside folks from Walnut Cove Members Association and people from other organizations who have received grants from Walnut Cove. We love WCMA, their generosity

and desire to bring us all together!

Thank you, Chris, for helping to keep the coffee replenished in the sanctuary on Wednesday morning.

Robert, Respite Social Work Clinician, preached during worship this week. Thanks, Robert!

Fresco Viewing Hours:

Monday - Thursday, 10 am - 2 pm (with the exception of during our worship service, which is 12:30 pm every Wednesday).

Contact April if you would like to make an appointment to see the Fresco outside of those hours.

Every Wednesday, time is set aside at the end of the day for visiting students to reflect on their experience. In the photo above, Laura B. and Mia are holding space for this week's AYM students.

Next week will be our final week of hosting groups from Asheville Youth Mission this summer. Last week we hosted the last group of the summer for Cross Connection. We are grateful for all the ways students showed up to learn what relationship, above all else looks like at Haywood St. and for the leadership of chaperones and staff members.

Until next year...

Reflecting on the

Downtown Welcome Table

As you probably know, Respite expansion construction has impacted our dining rooms. Even though the table has been moved outside, our calling to share food together in abundance and to break down barriers between people has not wavered. While we do not yet have a specific date for when we will return to the dining room, we are getting closer and closer each day. Stay tuned! In the meantime, enjoy this video reflection of this season as we dine together outside.

A witness to include the most excluded, Haywood Street not only welcomes every child of God–especially beloved siblings of every mental illness and physical disability, addiction and diagnosis, living condition and employment status, gender identity and sexual orientation, class, color, and creed–but we celebrate your presence, certain that the kingdom of God is coming closer because you are here.
