The FAFP room rate is available until March 22, or until the room block is full. Parking: Attendees staying at the Signia by Hilton will receive a daily discounted rate of $18 for overnight self-parking. Optional overnight valet parking is available for $52 per day. Fulfill your ABFM MOC requirements at the Live In-Person 2024 FAFP Spring Forum! Register now for the FAFP In-person ABFM KSA Study Group: Behavioral Health Care that will be offered for In-Person attendees in conjunction with the 2024 Spring Forum. The KSA registration deadline is Monday, April 1, 2024 at 11:59 PM EST.

Important: The Behavioral Health Care KSA will be offered live, in-person only, and there will be no virtual component offered. Spring Forum attendees who have registered for In-Person attendance will be able to participate. Pediatrician makes vaccination to small boy

In light of higher than normal measles cases being reported in Florida and 16 other states throughout the country (45 as of March 7), it is important that family physicians remain current on the latest information and resources available to prevent infection. The FAFP encourages members to reference the CDC's Protect Families & Communities with MMR Vaccine and other published scientific references to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their patients. 

FL Medical Loan Reimbursement Application Process is OPEN!

FAFP members eligible for the Florida Reimbursement Assistance for Medical Education (FRAME) Program must submit their application before March 31 to determine if they qualify to receive up to $20,000 for medical loan repayment. The FAFP will continue to remind members of this opportunity but do not delay in applying!

Capitol Update - Week 9

Sine Die!  Following weeks of interim committee meetings that began in September and an intense 60-day session that began in January, the Florida Legislature officially concluded its work last week. Each legislative session is unique, and the 2024 Legislative Session was no exception as it featured a bill vetoed during the legislative session and then revived, the return of a powerful Governor from a presidential campaign trail, record setting reserves, and continued respectful dialogue between the House Speaker and Senate President. The legislature passed major policy initiatives in the healthcare, education, and technology arenas, but mostly importantly completed its constitutional responsibility by passing a $117.46 billion state budget representing the 14th largest economy in the world.
