December 17, 2020
Dear Friend,

With the rollout of the first coronavirus vaccines bringing hope to a world desperately in need of it, the World Affairs Councils of America yearns for the time when we can reconnect in person with friends like you. Your warmth and engagement have inspired and sustained us over this past, most difficult year.

WACA pivoted to virtual platforms to bring you our annual National Conference, our first ever CEO Forum, our new Embassy Row Live! ambassador series, and more. We are excited to host students from across America for a virtual Academic WorldQuest national competition this spring.

Now, with less than one week left in 2020, I am reaching out for help with our year-end fundraising campaign. Will you join us?
Thanks to WACA Chairman Glenn Creamer and Board Director Carlos Alvarez, your donation will be matched dollar for dollar up to $50,000. A donation to WACA does more than strengthen the reach, depth, and educational value of World Affairs Council programs and activities - it fosters the fact-based, civil discourse that is the lifeblood of our democracy.

This holiday season, I hope you will support the WACA community by doubling the impact of your contribution. Your gift will enable WACA to pursue its core mission together with our 90 nonpartisan member Councils by convening diverse voices and continuing to expand engagement in world affairs in 2021.

Thank you for your generosity and for believing in the importance of our work!

On behalf of the entire WACA Board and Staff, I wish you and yours peace and good health.

With gratitude,
Bill Clifford,
WACA President and CEO

  • A $300 Above-the-Line Charitable deduction, meaning that individuals who do not itemize their deductions will be eligible to claim up to $300 of charitable deductions in 2020, on top of the standard deduction
  • Modified Limitations on Cash Charitable Contributions - for 2020, the 60% AGI limitation on cash contributions to 501(c)(3) organizations, such as WACA, is suspended.
