drillEvacuation Practice Drill on August 25th
Wildfire drills map
The last in a three part series of evacuation practice drills will take place on Sunday, August 25th. If you were not able to participate in the earlier drills, it's not too late.  All you have to do is to send your contact information and address to OES@cityofberkeley.info. Read more at the City of Berkeley web page.

The evacuation practice drills on August 4th and August 11th have provided both residents and the city with extremely valuable information.  That is the goal of the exercises - to identify glitches and problems with the process.  The more people participating, the more information the city can collect.  We need your help identifying all the things that worked, didn't work, need improvement, etc.

Regardless of where you live, I encourage you to participate in this exercise. All you have to do is sign up at OES@cityofberkeley.info and also sign up for AC ALERT here.  On the morning of the 25th, you will receive a communication telling you where to go if you are evacuating on foot and where to go if you are driving or biking. Grab your go-bag and leave your house.

Once you arrive at the destination, you will be asked to sign-in. There will be a de-briefing to hear all your questions and concerns. You should be home by 10:30 a.m.
