It's Okay to Have a Happy Holiday

As Andy Williams so aptly sung, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”! Well, it may be hard to actually believe that this year because, right now, there is a lot of “yuck” in the world - Ukraine war still in place, Israel conflict, political tension, inflation, housing crisis, the list goes on. With all the negativity, it might be tempting to scrap the holiday traditions this year. On the contrary, I would propose that we NEED our traditions more than ever this year!

Every year, the Crisis Center collects hundreds of toys from donors and community partners, such as Eileen Brito of Big Truck Transportation pictured here. This year, we collected over 850 gifts to be given to 292 individuals that we work with through counseling and Sexual Assault Services.

Prioritizing Patient Care

During a recent overnight shift, two EMTs within TranCare’s Medical Transportation Division were transferring a dementia patient back to a residential facility. Upon arrival, the EMTs were unable to find facility staff to sign paperwork and take over care for the patient. After searching the entire facility, the EMTs called their Supervisor.
