It's Showtime!

by Tim Fulton

Quick, think of your favorite actor or actress. It could be television, movies, or the stage. Alive or not. When you picture this amazing artist, what characteristics of that person come to mind? What distinguishes them as a performer? How would you describe him or her as an actor?

Typical responses usually include: they are genuine, flexible, very talented, hard-working, passionate, well-trained, fun, adaptive, effective communicators and the list goes on.

Who else could these attributes describe?
Elite athletes? Maybe.
School teachers? Many.
Presidents? Getting closer.
How about outstanding leaders? Bingo!

I believe great leaders can be described using many, if not all, of the above characteristics. What does that suggest to us about leadership?

Great Leaders are Great Performers.

Leadership is a performance. As a leader, you are on stage every day. You're performing for your employees, your customers, your vendors, and the list goes on.

A Major Benefit of Immigration? Entrepreneurship.

Immigrants have been pursuing new ventures at exceptionally high rates for decades. This trend ramped up in the mid-2000s, and in 2020, 6 out of every 1,000 immigrants started a new business. That’s almost double the rate of people born in the U.S.

BOOK OF THE MONTH

Marketing Made Simple, by Donald Miller
One of the most impactful marketing books I read in the past decade was Building a StoryBrand by Donald Miller. This WSJ best-selling book helped me better understand how to communicate a company’s brand through storytelling.

Needless to say, it was with great anticipation that I ordered Miller’s latest book, Marketing Made Simple, and it did not disappoint. This book provides the reader with a five-part checklist for creating and implementing a sales funnel that will increase your client prospect traffic and drive sales.
