The Clark Art’s is the only United States venue for this new consideration of Edward Much’s landscapes. "Trembling Earth" features more than seventy-five paintings, drawings, and prints, including major loans from the Munch Museum, and a wide selection of works from private collections that are rarely exhibited. Through these works of art, the exhibition studies Munch’s use of nature to express human emotions and examine relationships, celebrate farming practices and garden cultivation, and questions the mysteries of the forest even as his Norwegian homeland faced industrialization. On display June 1-October 15, 2023.
